What to Expect
These are active, visual, and engaging fishing sessions. We’ll target big carp (7–25 lbs) using sight fishing techniques in NYC’s public parks. There may also be chances to catch other species depending on conditions, but carp are our main focus.
We’ll work on spotting fish, reading water, and getting flies where they need to be. You’ll learn how to approach urban water in a way that puts you in front of feeding fish, with chances for both surface and tailing carp.
All Skill Levels Welcome
Never fly fished? No problem.
I’ll walk you through casting, hook setting, and fighting fish. We’ll get you dialed in to spot, approach, and catch urban carp using techniques that work and can be learned quickly.
Advanced anglers can use the session to sharpen technical approaches, refine their fly casting, and explore new urban tactics.
Gear Provided
High-quality fly rods and reels from AllFly, CDFishing, Orvis and MaxCatch in 7/8/10wt setups. Flies, leaders, and tippet included. You’re welcome to bring your own gear as long as you’ve got a floating line—we’ll get it rigged properly.
